Over 7000 falls from height in the workplace were reported to the UK Health and Safety Executive during 2006-07, 24 of these were fatal. Falls from height arethe most common cause of fatal injury and the second most common cause of major injuries, accounting for around 15% of all such injuries in the workplace.
